Newest SGA Officials Announced for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year

Campaign week for the 2022-23 school year did not disappoint. With beautiful Spring weather, candidates vying to represent their school campaigned from March 21st – 28th. Candidates running for the Royal Court or the Student Government Association (SGA) were given a chance to speak about their platform via Instagram Live on Mar 22nd at 6:00. The Mister and Miss Alcorn Pageant took place on March 27th in the Campus Union Ballroom at 4:00 pm. Hosted by the 95th Miss Alcorn State University 2021-2022, Olecia James, this event ended campaign week.

Voting took place on Tuesday, March 29th. Students received a ballot via their school email where they could vote from 9:00 am – to 5:00 pm. The results were announced the next day via Instagram Live. The 64th SGA President, Jaquerius Howard, was accompanied by the Director of Student Engagement, Devina Hogan, who read aloud the victorious candidates.
