NSLS Hosts Fright Night at ASU

On Wednesday, October 27th, the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) hosted a haunted house at 7:00 pm in Harmon Hall and a campus costume party at 8:00 pm in the E.E. Simmons Gymnasium at Alcorn State University (ASU).

Many students waited in the long line wrapped around Harmon Hall as they were in for the spooky surprises the NSLS brought them on this annual night of terror. The haunted house featured a variety of characters from popular horror movies including Jason, the Purge characters, Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, vampires and more. There were also many scary arts and crafts created by the cast and NSLS’ Aleisha Williams.

“Planning for this event was amazing. It was exciting getting all of the supplies from Party City and making designs for the haunted house. It was fun learning from others as we prepared for the event. It turned out really well and everyone said this year’s haunted house was the best one yet,” Joshua McNair, a Senior Criminal Justice major, said.

In addition to the haunted house, students were able to enjoy a costume party filled with scary activities and fun dances. “This event was a success as well. Although we didn’t have as many people as we would have liked to because of the weather, it was just enough that came to enjoy themselves and make the event fun. I had a great time dancing and eating good old fashioned nachos,” McNair said.

“I am very satisfied and happy with the turn out of both events for this year. They were safe, fun, and scary. I hope to continue hearing great things about the future Halloween events that NSLS will host,” McNair said.
