With a new football season fast-approaching and a new semester underway, the Coach Fred McNair Radio Show is back for a second season on WPRL 91.7 FM (Alcorn’s campus radio station).
Operations Manager of WPRL and host of the show, Charles Edmond, stated, “a lot of people do not follow up on football all year long, so this is a chance for people to get caught up to speed on what is happening with the program and get ready for an exciting season.” Head Football Coach Fred McNair stated, “I believe in ‘Alcorn by Alcorn’. I think this is a great deal what we’re doing here as far as the radio station is concerned and it’s doing a great job as far as exploring the football program.” Edmond also emphasized the effect social media has had on the show since last season. From weekly promoting to weekly uploads of the show on social media, there has been an incline in the number of listeners and viewers.
