It’s that time of year again where the seasons change along with the former Student Government Association’s (SGA) elected officials. On March 16, 2015 through March 20, 2015 the hopeful candidates campaigned to become the newest representatives for Alcorn State University’s SGA for the 2015-2016 school year.

To famaliarize the student body with the candidates vying for the SGA positions, the Alcorn State SGA 2014-2015 members presented a forum entitled, “Meet the Candidates” on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 6:00 pm in the Campus Union Ballroom. Here, the candidates each gave speeches as to why they would be the ideal candidate for that particular position.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Student Union in the Multipurpose Room from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm the voting for the prospective candidates began. The candidates were already forewarned that if any candidate didn’t get 50 percent of the vote then there would be run off on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Student Union in the Multipurpose Room from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm.

Here are the newly elected officials for the 2015-2016 Student Government Association.
