Madea (Tyler Perry) and the gang are back for this hilarious sequel to BOO! A Medea Halloween. Madea, Bam (Cassi Davis) and Hattie (Patrice Lovely) venture to a haunted campground and the group must literally run for their lives when zombies, ghosts and the Bogeyman are unleased. In BOO! A Madea Halloween, Madea learns that teenagers and Halloween are nothing to play with but in BOO 2! A Madea Halloween, Madea and her clan aren’t the only ones running for their lives.

In the beginning of BOO 2! the audience is reintroduced to Brian (Tyler Perry), Madea’s nephew and his daughter Tiffany (Diamond White). It’s Tiffany’s 18th birthday and she’s looking to have some fun. Brian goes to her school to pick her up but he doesn’t come empty handed. In a gift bag are some headphones, not the car keys to a new car that Tiffany was expecting. Luckily, Tiffany’s mother, Debrah (Taja V. Simpson), turns everything around when she pulls up in Tiffany’s new car. With her new ride Tiffany makes a detour to the fraternity house where she tries to convince Jonathan (Yousef Erakat) that if he allows her to attend this year’s Halloween party her dad won’t ruin it like the previous year. Tiffany makes sure she and her friends attend the party by lying to her father by using that good old, “I’m staying at my mom’s house” line but she had no clue that her Aunt Madea overheard the entire conversation between her and her mom. Madea then tells Brian their plan but Madea takes matters into her own hands.

Madea travels to Lake Derrick where the party is, along with her crew to save Tiffany and her friends from what could be a tragic end. While there, Hattie and Madea run into a Bogeyman with a chainsaw, a dead little girl and a man wearing a gas mask. The three have already killed some of the party attendees or at least that is what the audience is lead to believe. The film peaks when Brian appears at the scene of the party and lets everyone (Bam, Hattie, Madea, Tiffany and Jonathan) know that it was all a prank to teach his daughter a lesson for not telling the truth.

Although movie critics haven’t had a lot of wonderful things to say about the movie, one thing that is certain is that you’ll get a few good laughs in. During its opening weekend the movie brought in $21 million dollars and thus far has accumulated $28.1 million.

BOO 2! A Madea Halloween receives 4 stars out of 10 stars.
